Indiana Limestone Company is the nation’s largest
integrated quarrier and fabricator of genuine
Indiana Limestone.
Over 75 years ago, a
group of 24 limestone companies, or 90% of
this area’s Indiana Limestone industry,
combined to form Indiana Limestone Company
(ILC). Today, from raw block and slab
material to finished dimensional cut stone
and standard building products, Indiana
Limestone Company is the leading fully
integrated supplier of North America’s
Building Stone. Since 1926, ILC continues to
be the largest limestone quarrier and
fabricator in North America. Located in the
heart of one of the world’s richest
limestone deposits, ILC owns more than 2,300
acres containing over 100 years of reserves.
Proper planning, development of new sawing
and quarrying techniques, and the use of
available technology allows ILC to maximize
the usable stone from its six quarries. By
improving yield and quarrying over 1 million
cubic feet of high quality limestone per
year, ILC offers the widest range of colors,
grades, and product all readily available
for quick delivery around the world. Of the
six quarries, our most active and
well-known, Empire/PM&B and Crown quarries
have been the exclusive sources of stone for
the most prestigious works of American
architecture including the Empire State
Building, National Constitution Center,
Mississippi State Judicial Building, and the
Ronald Reagan Building and International
Trade Center in Washington, D.C. As a source
and fabricator for genuine Indiana
Limestone, Indiana Limestone Company
combines modern technology with traditional
craftsmanship to make the architect and
builder’s vision a reality.
